The Allen Residences at the Thompson Hotel are well located and enjoy sweeping views of downtown Houston, Texas. For this condo, our repeat clients asked us to reconsider the interior architecture and complete the interior design. We redesigned the entry and relocated walls in the kitchen and hall to create a bar/pantry and built-in desk. We created a media wall, applied wallpaper and paint throughout, selected new fixtures, redesigned a half bath, and installed LED lighting throughout. A neutral palette of gray and stone celebrates the urban edge but the condo still offers the comforts of home: cushy upholstered chairs and sofas, upholstered bar chairs with rounded backs, textural rugs and throw pillows and a statement wet bar for stylish entertaining.
To create interest and define spaces we added partial walls of slatted oak acoustic panelling against dark walls for an energetic contrast in otherwise quiet rooms. Finally we added just a dash of glam in the brass matte glass tile backsplash in he bar, cool dark cloud-like chandelier in the living room and trio of exotic gold-tone pendants over the kitchen island.
