After a complete gut and interior design renovation of a ski house at Palisades, the only detail that remains of the original interior decor is the traditional river rock fireplace, and even that was adapted, capped with a timber mantle and offset by two contemporary ring chandeliers adorned with oversized crystals lit from within. We started with extensive wood interiors from floor to ceiling — the walls featuring a contemporary application of wide planks with thin lines of chinking — to speak to the forest outside the door.
Our interior architecture space planning included rethinking the staircase and building custom with a tactile metal railing, as well as creating as many alcoves for extra beds as possible, including a queen bed tucked into a cozy wood-lined and beamed nook. Our interior design included a neutral palette of black, white and gray tones with pops of red and blue. Many pieces of furniture were designed by High Camp Home to establish a consistent and harmonious theme in this warm and inviting rustic moutian family home.
