For the interior design of a new build at Martis Camp/Lake Tahoe, our longtime SoCal-based clients returned to High Camp Home to create a modern rustic Tahoe home with an original, fresh look and immersive indoor-outdoor aesthetic. The contemporary mountain house interiors combines a neural palette with steel and rustic touches for light-filed interiors that are of the moment but still cozy. In addition to the open-plan living area and gracious primary guest suite, the home includes an upstairs office with an array of mounted skulls and a tumbleweed light fixture, dedicated bedrooms for their young children, and a suite for guests decorated with contemporary wildlife art that seems to float in the treetops.
The husband’s hangout space — featuring a bar, TV, fireplace, shuffleboard and wine storage — leans decidedly with a more rustic interior design than the rest of the house with lots of wood and a moody vibe. Design details include ceramic handcrafted tiles throughout the house from Petaluma-based FLM, quartz countertops, and a mix of high-end custom pieces with off-the-rack finds. Outdoors, a pond with waterfall adds ambience and sound to three-season entertaining spaces.
