For this Lake Tahoe interior design project we started with this 1980s home that had an awkward layout and a dated look but had a great location on a quiet court with spectacular mountain views. For this active family with five sons, the goal was a complete remodel resulting in a harmony of clean lines, rustic hand-hewn elements and meticulously crafted details.
The project involved exquisite interior design and creative space planning for a five-bedroom, five-bath ski house that would be a full-time residence six months of the year. In this Palisades at Tahoe mountain home, we created an updated and reconfigured vision for the home by opening up the main living area, relocating the powder room, transforming an office space into a rustic modern mudroom with individual lockers, and reconfiguring the overall layout to make it more functional. For the interior design and architecture, we chose a neutral palette, a light and bright kitchen with traditional influences, and layers of texture in art and furnishings create a Alpine Meadows home that is both timeless and of the moment.
